Few people have the background and knowledge that Baum has about the ins-and-outs of the electronic scene, on both a national and international level. This Barcelona-born artist has been making a profession out of his passion for over a decade whilst adopting different slants: whether pure art on the dancefloor or projects out of the spotlight. But what really distinguishes him is his unrequited love for dance music. After working under different aliases and collectives, Baum has found the ultimate musical arrangement with his most personal project.
The chemistry that transpires when Baum goes up to the DJ booth leads to an instant connection with the crowd thanks to his never-ending enthusiasm and bravura. Whenever, wherever. With just some decks he’ll prove his musical wisdom both in technique and selection – based on his liking of old-school house blended with new generation European and American trends – that has been forged through years of sessions at Barcelona’s most select clubs, parties in Ibiza such as Space or Pacha, and in countries like the US and Morocco, to name just a few. Baum is one of those artists who can make a whole club dance, which has led to him joining the resident DJ team at Elrow, one of Spain’s craziest and most hedonistic parties.
In electronic dance music not only does Baum stand his ground on the dancefloor, but he’s also responsible for tracks and EPs released by labels such as Suara , Supernature or Prozak-Trax, amongst others, either as an original producer or a remixer. As for labels, he combines work as an A&R for Suara, picking out tracks that define the path of one of today’s most successful labels, with the management of Baumhaus, his very own label created to search for and discover the talent of like-minded Spanish producers who reflect the distinctive sound that Baum gives to his sets. A label that is increasingly open to international artists and is becoming a benchmark for DJs who like to set alight the dancefloors of the most discerning clubs. In short: Don’t say dance, say Baum.
