“He/aT = Killer Techno” (Hardwax)
He/aT (aka Chris Finke) has been a mainstay of UK techno since the early 2000s.
As well as holding down one of the longest running residencies in techno at seminal UK institution Atomic Jam, he ran the the Flux Recordings label, and remixed the likes of Mark Broom, Orlando Voorn and A Guy Called Gerald, he also co produced & presented the incredibly influential Split Radio Show and series of parties in the mid 2000’s.
In a brave move to keep things fresh, late 2013 saw him essentially killing off his past name and started recording anonymously under the He/aT moniker with a string of releases on his self titled vinyl-only label that immediately grabbed attention of DJs and record-buyers. His music explores every avenue of techno, from hard hitting main room jams, to experimental workouts, drawing from myriad of influences past and present, and his track titles standing out as some of the most creative in the game today.
As well as pushing his sound and beyond with his DJing, he was invited to make his live show debut at Berghain in 2015. His residency at Atomic Jam “Atomic Jam” is now also held under the He/aT name as they enter their 21st year.
2016 sees He/aT moving onto other labels for the first time. With EPs finished for MORD, Krill Music and more, plus a new label and performance project with Tom Dicicco called “Kintsugi Soundsystem” things are starting to get getting very interesting…
